Today, March 11, 2006, marks the first birthday of FunnyFarmProductions.com. Throughout that time, we have grown immensely. The site design has gone through a few revisions, including one major overhaul. This past year has seen the end of one school year and the beginning of another, a continuous wave of new content, and the creation and release of our first film, Everybody Hates C?©sar. We’ve been through two schedule developments, taken part in St. Mary’s first online course, and experienced great loss. With our third year of high school slowly coming to an end, Funny Farm Productions continues on. However, we don’t forget our roots. Take a look through the past and see the site as it once was.
As we look fondly on the past, we also take pride in the present. Today, FFP won the County Competition for National History Day in the Group Documentary category, with our film Reaction and Regeneration: Prince Klemens Von Metternich. We will now move on to the State, and, if all goes well, the National Competition.

The unfinished version of Everybody Hates César that was shown as the Junior Class video at Spirit Week 2005 can now be viewed online. The movies require QuickTime 7 because they were encoded using H.264. H.264 is a new video compression technology that creates high-quality video at small file sizes. Comparing H.264 to our old compression technique, the small version of Everybody Hates César was smaller by 2MB and the large version lost a whopping 20 MB.

The Funny Farm mourns the passing of beloved art teacher Linda Messerschmid, called affectionately by her students "Ms. Mes." She provided many generations of St. Mary's Students with her 15 years of service to the school and helped them develop their latent art skills.
Her witty sense of humor and her quality of absolute honesty defined her class, as well as her personality. Clever ideas and new groundbreaking assignments helped everyone to maximize their art skills, and gain a greater appreciation for the majestic world of art, and especially for truly talented artists such as M.C. Escher.
Her art and mechanical drawing classes prepared her students for professional drawing and drafting, in a way that no other could replicate. Her massive experience and wisdom will be sorely missed.
Her constant communication with her inner child proved to be a bonding point between students and teacher. With movies such as Shrek 2, Fantasia, and The Wizard of Oz, she constantly provided experiences for discussion, and reflection. She was a St. Mary's High School Institution, and her loss will be heavily felt by the members of the community. Although the incoming freshman will never experience her greatness firsthand, we as fortunate students will pass on her great wisdom and compassion. Ms. Mes, rest in peace.
Forever,
The Funny Farm

It is now much easier to add sections to the site. We have three new features: a Current Projects section, a Downloads section, and the Random Thing box on the right side of every page. It will be updated every week with something random, like a Forums quote or a funny image. To celebrate our new site, we made a Funny Farm Productions documentary-type thing, FFP: Comedy. The first new additions to the site will be two Failed Attempts from Julian, coming soon.
